Greater Nashua Widows and Widowers Social Support Group, LLC (GNWWSSG)

The Greater Nashua Widows and Widowers Social Support Group has been meeting at the Pilgrim Congregational Church UCC in Nashua since October 2021. The group has been created for people of all ages in the Southern NH region who have suffered the painful loss of a spouse. The group meets once a month, and aspires to create a nurturing and supportive environment where connections can be made with others who have gone through the same challenging and stressful experience.

This is a social group but NOT a dating group.  However, for widows and widowers who are ready to move forward with their lives, it may present an opportunity to meet others with similar interests, establish friendships, and/or lead to companionship.  It is a place where people can feel safe to share their feelings in strict confidence and where everyone can network and share resources.

Additionally, this is NOT a bereavement group.  For those who have recently lost a spouse, bereavement services can be obtained through Home, Health, and Hospice in Merrimack.

Anyone who attends a meeting is asked to sign a simple waiver of liability in order to provide protection for the group’s organizers, themselves, and others.   There is no fee to attend.

Meetings take place at the Pilgrim Congregational Church UCC at 2 PM in Nashua on the third Saturday of every month and entail introductions, a specific topic for discussion, and finally time set aside for light refreshments and socializing.  Additionally, arrangements are sometimes made for a guest speaker.

The focus of the group is determined by input from its attendees.
