Effective immediately, we are cancelling regularly-scheduled worship services in our building for the immediate future. This is in response to the current general public health situation in New Hampshire with the COVID-19 virus. At this time, we do NOT have a case of the virus in our congregation; however, we are being proactive to prevent that from occurring.
We do not take this action lightly, because this is exactly the time when many people most require spiritual support and inspiration. But we also have a responsibility to help prevent the physical spread of the disease, especially when we host a preschool in our building. In addition, a significant part of our congregation is in the older segment of the population, which is at highest risk for this disease.
At present, the recommendation from the NH Conference of the UCC is that NH congregations “fast” from public worship at least until the middle of May. We will be monitoring the local health situation, and will resume regular services as soon as safely possible.
