A 7.5-magnitude earthquake struck Central Sulawesi, Indonesia, on September 28. The quake, and the resulting tsunami with waves up to about 10 feet high, leveled buildings and brought destruction to the city of Palu and surrounding areas. More than 1,200 people were killed, with hundreds more missing. Thousands have been injured and around 60,000 people have been displaced.
