Music Program
Our music program is directed by our Board of Music.
Our Chancel choir sings each week at the regular Sunday services, and at special
services such as Palm Sunday. We also have a small—but very talented—chamber
orchestra, under the leadership of church member Rowena Carr.
We also have many special events in which the entire congregation is encouraged
to join in, such as annual Christmas caroling.
Feel free to contact the church office if you have any questions about the music
program in general, or if you would like to participate in any part of our
music ministry. We are always looking for new talent!

Chorus #44 (“Hallelujah!”) from The Messiah, by G. F. Handel
Members of our congregation have performed the Hallelujah Chorus three times so far (Christmas
2002, Easter 2003, and Christmas 2003).
Here are a couple of recordings of the performances:
- The 2003 Easter performance
(April 20, 2003. MP3 format, 4:13 long, 2.4 MBytes). Directed and accompanied
by our former interim Music Director, Jared Holland.
- The 2003 Christmas performance
(December 21, 2003. MP3 format, 3:53 long, 4.6 MBytes). Directed and accompanied
by our former Director of Music Ministry, R. Scott White.
Gloria in D Major, RV589, by A. Vivaldi
So far, we have done the first movement of the Gloria once:
- The 2004 Easter performance (April
11, 2004. MP3 format, 2:20 long, 2.8 MBytes). Directed and accompanied by
our former Director of Music Ministry, R. Scott White. (Unfortunately, we did not
have the microphones set up for best recording; however, the recording still
sounds fairly good, all things considered.) The picture above was taken
by congregation member Greg Carr, during that performance.
Technical Notes

Note: Because the pieces are several minutes long,
these files may take some time to download if you are using a slow connection.
We apologize for the size, but it's really unavoidable — music
takes up a lot of room.

if you prefer. The instructions for this vary with your computer and browser...

Consult the online “help” in your browser for additional information
about downloading a file to your local disk.
